Magic Tree House Audiobooks
David’s first experiences with audiobooks were with the Magic Tree House series of books. I had read him two of the chapter books when he was 4, and he became passionate about them. While we collected the print copies from the used bookstore and thrift shops, we filled in the blanks with audiobooks. Now, it appears, we have a full set of audio AND print books, since the audio is so nice for travelling, and the books are great for re-reading.
Audible has most of the series (with the exception of a few of the Merlin Missions), and the price is very reasonable. The Merlin Missions are a little more expensive, but considering most of them are only available in print in hardcover, it’s still cheaper than buying the print versions.
All the Magic Tree House books are read by the author, Mary Pope Osborne, and she is a fantastic narrator. We’ve listened to all of these multiple times while travelling, or just while coloring or building with Lego.
